Thanks everyone for coming to the February Ranking Battle. It was a great event, we had 307 attendees, and huge tournaments for Smash 4 with 160 attendees and a fantastic first tournament to launch Street Fighter V with 85 attendees. Here are the results

SEPTEMBER RANKING BATTLE – Two Day Event!

Tournaments, casual games, tips and training – CouchWarriors Ranking Battles are a day long fighters festival! Newcomers are welcome as well as tournament veterans.

NOTE – THIS MONTH THIS THE RANBAT WILL BE SPLIT OVER TWO DAYS.  In response to the frankly incredible growth of our monthly events in which we are reaching between 150-200 attendees, we’re taking this step to maximise space and comfort.

We’re bowled over that the community is coming together so strongly and proud to be able to support everyone in having great events.

Day 1 – SMASH 4 tournaments and casuals (other games welcome but not official tournaments)

Day 2 – All other games: SMASH Melee, PM, All Fighters Tournaments – USF4, GGXRD, DOA5LR, MKX

Each “Ranbat” monthly is a chance to play long sets of casual games for practice, but also earn Ranking Points for the tournament games listed below.  Look for regular updates on the ranking points here on the site.  You can view the current rankings here.

BRING YOUR OWN CONTROLLER
There is a BYOC / Sticks policy for the event. Our friendly players will often loan a controller, but we ask you to please bring your run!  Also, while we should have enough equipment to run the tournaments, everyone will appreciate anybody who can bring setups for casuals and DIYs.

HOW TO GET THERE

The venue is a short walk from Moreland Train Station, Sydney Road Tram, and there is ample parking at the venue . It’s just off Sydney Rd, before Moreland Rd.

PLAY STREET FIGHTER V AT RANKING BATTLE AUGUST 22!

Get Ready to RISEUP – we will have a special preview of STREET FIGHTER V at this month’s Ranking Battle event.SF5 Preview

There will be two stations available for players to get a hands on experience in two player offline matches.  It will be the gamescom build, so try Ken and Necalli!

We will be running some house rules to move people through the preview with three matches on, then move to next players for most of the time.  We will also schedule some exhibitions with top players later in the day.

Thank you to Capcom for the opportunity to showcase the new game.

Battle Arena Melbourne 7 Tournament Results and Videos

Battle Arena Melbourne 7 was the largest Fighting Game event on record in Australia, with 628 attendees, and competitors playing for fun and vying for glory, cash, prizes and a coveted BAM trophy or Medal across 16 events.  The chance to get together with fellow players in a big community with the excitement and atmosphere of a big tournament makes for a lasting experience.  We’re excited to share the results and videos with you.

December 2014 Final Ranking Battle Results and Points Tally

The December Ranking Battle results are in!  We had an amazing turnout of 115 attendees.  The Ranking results are added below.  We will update soon with the Smash Bros results.

Ranking season medals were awarded to the top points getters in Smash 4, Smash Melee, Ultra Street Fighter 4, Dead Or Alive 5 Ultimate and Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown

There were some great finals prizes given away thanks to Benq, Madman, Five Star Games and Mindscape Games. Plus thanks to Mindscape and Tecmo Koei we had a preview play of the new Dead or Alive 5 Last Round. What a packed event!
