Australian fighting game event runners and community. Hosts of BAM: Battle Arena Melbourne, Australia's largest fighting game/open entry esports event.
National Fighting Game Esports League launched. Season one brings state champions together at BAM, Australia’s international finals
Australian esports events organisation, CouchWarriors, today announces a national points based league for fighting game tournaments. CouchWarriors League (CWL) is tying together monthly Ranking Battle tournaments across four states, with a special reward for top point scorers in each one of four feature titles. The state champions will be rewarded with a paid flight and entry to BAM, Australia’s international fighting game major.
The League Season tracks how players fare across “Ranbat” events in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. The monthly events are each the focal point for the local community and a step into the esports tournament scene. The success of CouchWarriors local ranking battle events has seen an average of 150 attendees at each city’s gatherings every month
Visit the CouchWarriors League site to follow the latest rankings!
The feature titles awarding travel in the first season of CWL are Street Fighter V, Tekken 7, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and Super Smash Bros Melee. Regular online events will also give players across the country the opportunity to edge ahead on points.
We support a big range of tournament titles, which will also have results tracked, so you can see how you compare with your fellow players.
Every month as events conclude you can follow the player rankings on a central points ladder. The ladder can be found at CouchWarriorsLeague.com.au
Each event is live streamed and featured in Twitch.TV front page promotion in ANZ.

Smash Ultimate
1. GG|Ignis
2. Kanga|Jdizzle
3. ATH|DD
A tough month for Jdizzle and DD as they were both trying to snag a few extra BAM Path to EVO points for what is currently a tight race for top spot. In the end, Ignis denied both of them to bring home a win for the GACHA GANG! Jdizzle is still clear on top of the standings though, and also took away high honours in the Victorian scene’s awards ceremony.
The new game brought in a new MVP for VIC Smash as @Jdizzle_203 found himself on top of all others for 2019! Congratulations! pic.twitter.com/yHc4ZLZ63L
CouchWarriors returned for more RanBat action in June, with players coming back refreshed after last months huge turnout at BAM10. Now halfway through the year, it’s time to look at the current points for each of our games.

Get Ready to RISEUP – we will have a special preview of STREET FIGHTER V at this month’s Ranking Battle event.
There will be two stations available for players to get a hands on experience in two player offline matches. It will be the gamescom build, so try Ken and Necalli!
We will be running some house rules to move people through the preview with three matches on, then move to next players for most of the time. We will also schedule some exhibitions with top players later in the day.
Thank you to Capcom for the opportunity to showcase the new game.
