Two mighty World Champions of Street Fighter have been confirmed. Both Daigo and Infiltration will be at #BAM9!

Daigo Umehara also known as The Beast is a multiple title fighting game champion. He won two consecutive EVO World Championships in Street Fighter IV, and famed for this video, EVO Moment 37.

Lee Seon-woo aka Infiltration burst on to the scene during Street Fighter IV and his powerful, methodical play and ability to “download” an opponent’s playstyle and overcome them has led him to dominance and is the first Street Fighter V EVO World Champion. [Video]

The perfect opportunity for new players to experience and explore one of the greatest upcoming fighting game experiences.

Battle Arena Melbourne 9 Cosplay Competition Announced!

We are pleased to announce Battle Arena Melbourne 9’s official cosplay competition! Join us in your best fighting game costume for a chance to win some awesome prizes. Not only is BAM Australia’s biggest fighting game event, it’s a gaming and esports festival, so we would like to invite everyone to appear in character!

 

There’s over $500 in cash and prizes for the Cosplay alone!  Plus, TOP 3 – Priority Pass to OzComicCon Melbourne 

Photography: On the floor of BAM9, we will have a special photo wall and photographer onsite, so there’ll be great shots to come from the event.

Cosplay Changerooms: There will be a dedicated space off-floor for Cosplayers to change.

Battle Arena Melbourne 9 Afterparty announced!

CouchWarriors is excited to announce that the official BAM9 Afterparty will be held at the The General Assembly at South Wharf – a gorgeous and large bar/restaurant with outdoor and indoor spaces located right next to MCEC.

The afterparty will start on May 14 at 7PM so you can walk out of MCEC immediately after BAM9 finals day ends and straight into the afterparty venue! We will have drinks till late together with multiple setups there for your drunken team matches or moneymatches.

Relax over dinner and discuss your BAM weekend, play ping pong, and enjoy good company and drinks by the Melbourne city skyline. Read more

Capcom Pro Tour 2017 Revealed: BAM9 is a Global Premier Event

Capcom has revealed details about the 2017 Capcom Pro Tour structure, confirming Battle Arena Melbourne 9 as a Global Premier Event!

UPDATE: The international champions are coming! Already confirmed are Daigo, Inflitration and Xian.

Unlike last year, winners of Premier events are not guaranteed entry into the year-ending Capcom Cup, but are awarded a large amount of points towards their place on the CPT Global Leaderboards – 400 points, in fact: as many as getting to the Top 4 at Evolution!

BAM is the one of the largest annual fighting game tournaments in the southern hemisphere, and BAM9 will be our biggest year yet. Be sure to book your ticket now!

Note: SFV teams will be on Friday night, Pokemon style 3v3 format and have a 32 team cap.

(Pre-registration is $50 venue entry, pre-registration closes two weeks before the event and on the day entry will be $60.
Registration for Smash WiiU and Melee is pre-registration only. All other on-the-day registration for games must be done one hour before the game’s first pool starts.)

If you wish to join the event as a spectator, you are more than welcome! It’s only $20 for the entire weekend to take in the event.
