Console Tournament Area:

CouchWarriors have been called upon once again to host the fighting game section of the Console Tournament area at PaxAus, running through all three days and hosting a wide variety of games to suit any gamer, new or old.

As usual, between tournament sets we are open for learn to play sessions and casual matches. So feel free to take a break between all those panels, cosplaying and indie games to come join in for some competitive fun!

Winners for each tournament will receive a limited edition PAXAus medal!

INJUSTICE 2 Major PAXAUS Tournament: $20K Prize pool. CouchWarriors supporting

CouchWarriors is proudly supporting a major Injustice 2 tournament to be hosted at PAX Australia with a prize pool of AUD$20,000!

Qualifiers will be held on Friday 27th. The final eight will compete on Sunday 29th for glory and their share of the massive prize pool:

1st prize: $7,500

2nd place: $5,000

3rd & 4th place: $3,500

When: Round 1 qualifiers – Friday 27th October on the PAX Arena stage

Cost: Entry to the tournament is free. Entry to the Friday session at PAX Australia required, valued at $65 – Sunday passes will be provided for anyone in the final 8 that doesn’t already have one. Tickets are available here.

BRING YOUR OWN CONTROLLER There is a BYOC / Sticks policy for the event. We have some available for emergency and our friendly players will often loan a controller, but we ask you to please bring your own!

Throwdown Esports $16K Street Fighter V tournament at PAX Aus: CouchWarriors Supporting

CouchWarriors is proudly supporting a major Street Fighter V tournament to be hosted at PAX Australia with Throwdown Esports
The event will feature a $16,000 prize pool including a custom built Arcade Cabinet, and for the winner, a trip to Red Bull Kumite in Paris!
We will be hosting qualifying events in Melbourne, Sydney, and online, and assisting with the main event.

August Ranbat: Melbourne Tekken 7 IeSF and OHN15 Qualifier

CouchWarriors together with both OzHadou and Iesf are proud to present you this months special OHN and Iesf Qualifier. Both will be part of the August 19th Ranking Battle event.

For OHN, We will be running seeding qualifiers for the upcoming Sydney Major OzHadou Nationals 15 on September 15th – 17th.

Also in conjunction we will be using the Tekken tournament as the qualifier for the International Esports Federation Event where the winner gets sent to compete in another qualifier in NSW and the winner of THAT goes to BUSAN, SOUTH KOREA to compete!

CouchWarriors July 22nd Ranbat – Smash 4 and RoA

Hi guys, the Melee+PM+FGC games CouchWarriors ranbat was last week, this Saturday is the ranbat for Smash 4 and Rivals of Aether.

Come for a full day of tournament fun and friendlies.


When: Saturday 22nd of July – 10am-10pm
Where: Brunswick Masonic Hall 6 Davies St, Brunswick North VIC 3056
Cost each day: $10 Entry + Tournaments (Expected pot fee is $5 per tournament)

Schedule:

In the event that we have enough setups (NOTE: Rivals of Aether will not run if there are not enough sign ups)

10:30am – Doubles signups close
11am – Doubles bracket begins
1pm – Singles Sign ups Close
2pm – Singles Pools
Pro Smash 4 Bracket Starts when both waves finish
2:30pm – Rivals of Aether Bracket begins (Sign up at Venue before start time)

COUCHWARRIORS HOSTING FIGHTING GAMES AT OZ COMIC CON 2017! JULY 1-2

This weekend sees the return of OzcomicCon to Melbourne!  

Among the fun of guests, panels, cosplay and stalls you will find CouchWarriors hosting fighting game casuals and tournaments in the OCC Gaming area.  So come join us to enjoy some gaming at the convention.

We’ll be hosting Learn to Play along with casual matches and tournaments.

BAM9 – Results

What a huge weekend it was at the Melbourne Convention Centre for Battle Arena Melbourne 9!  The CouchWarriors team is incredibly proud of the event and pleased to see so many people had a great time.  With over 800 competitors and overall attendance over 1,800, it was an awesome event. From the community buzz and smiling faces at the afterparty, it looks like everyone had a great time, which is the number one thing for us.
