We are pleased to announce the return of special guest Jeffrey “Chamba” Cruz to Battle Arena Melbourne in 2017!
The artist for Udon Comics’ Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Super Street Fighter & Street Fighter V : Life and Death(s) of Charlie Nash, he will be appearing both Saturday 13th 11am-5pm, and Sunday 14th May, 11am-3pm.
Chamba, who was a popular guest at BAM 2014 and 2016, will be available to draw commissions of your favourite characters, sign prints and hang with fellow gaming fans!
Capcom has revealed details about the 2017 Capcom Pro Tour structure, confirming Battle Arena Melbourne 9 as a Global Premier Event!
UPDATE: The international champions are coming! Already confirmed are Daigo, Inflitration and Xian.
Unlike last year, winners of Premier events are not guaranteed entry into the year-ending Capcom Cup, but are awarded a large amount of points towards their place on the CPT Global Leaderboards – 400 points, in fact: as many as getting to the Top 4 at Evolution!
BAM is the one of the largest annual fighting game tournaments in the southern hemisphere, and BAM9 will be our biggest year yet. Be sure to book your ticket now!
With our first chance to play SFV at CouchWarriors Ranbat for August last weekend, many in the community had their first hands on with the game. Here are a couple of the photos from our Facebook page on the day. Read on for impressions and video!
Getting the chance to play on on one with live opponents in the gamescom build of the game was a great chance for community to get a feel for the upcoming game. The reactions have been generally very positive, and players are looking forward to the game.
CouchWarriors member and avid youtuber, Kevin “Burnout” Kim did a great job at pulling together some analysis of changes between the online beta version, which received coverage on Shoryuken.com

Get Ready to RISEUP – we will have a special preview of STREET FIGHTER V at this month’s Ranking Battle event.
There will be two stations available for players to get a hands on experience in two player offline matches. It will be the gamescom build, so try Ken and Necalli!
We will be running some house rules to move people through the preview with three matches on, then move to next players for most of the time. We will also schedule some exhibitions with top players later in the day.
Thank you to Capcom for the opportunity to showcase the new game.
