Capcom Pro Tour 2017 Revealed: BAM9 is a Global Premier Event

Capcom has revealed details about the 2017 Capcom Pro Tour structure, confirming Battle Arena Melbourne 9 as a Global Premier Event!

UPDATE: The international champions are coming! Already confirmed are Daigo, Inflitration and Xian.

Unlike last year, winners of Premier events are not guaranteed entry into the year-ending Capcom Cup, but are awarded a large amount of points towards their place on the CPT Global Leaderboards – 400 points, in fact: as many as getting to the Top 4 at Evolution!

BAM is the one of the largest annual fighting game tournaments in the southern hemisphere, and BAM9 will be our biggest year yet. Be sure to book your ticket now!

Overall in 2016, Couch Warriors has spent more money than we have received this year reducing our savings year-to-year. This is mainly due to all the assets we have invested into the community for it to grow.

Some examples of the gear that we have bought in 2016 for the community:

* All Smash 4 stream gear including a stream laptop

* All Melee with stream gear including a stream laptop

CCH- December 17 and 2017 dates!

Hi guys, it’s the last CCH of the year. I will not be there so Spoony will run it in my absence- big thanks to Daniel Finegan aka Spoony.

Facebook event:

I’ve updated the dates with the full 2017 year, we will no longer operate on a fortnightly schedule, but instead be on the 2nd and 4th week of every month. This is to avoid clashes with the CouchWarriors ranbat which is on the 3rd week of every month and Chris Ho’s tournaments which will be on the 1st week of every month.

I know this year we’ve had much more inconsistency than usual with different venues and startup times and clashes with ranbats and I’m sorry about all that- but this year thanks to the Library ironing out its booking system, we’re rock solid twice a month at 3PM at the Collingwood Library. Here’s to a good 2017 and happy holidays to all the FGC.

Date: Saturday, December 17
Time: 3pm till late
Location: 11 Stanton St, Abbotsford. (Collingwood Library, right next to the Collingwood train station)
Entry Fee: $4 venue fee; anybody that brings either a monitor/console/laptop gets in for free.
Facebook Event Page here.
BYO: screens, consoles and sticks are all appreciated, even if they go unused. The more the merrier.

Pyro’s CCH KOFXIV league: The Prologue

-Swiss format FT3
-Starts at 4PM
-Two tiers T1 and T2

T1 Signup:
T2 Signup:

Tier 1 is your competitively driven players or veteran players, expect to be playing people that know what they’re doing and are looking to improve even more so. Tier 2 is your new to King of Fighters or I’ve only played it a handful of times. Expect that these players would be looking to get into the game and maybe one day make it to Tier 1. You may choose your own tier, if you think you’re a Tier 1 player, then enter T1 otherwise enter T2. If you’re stomping T2, you may be moved to T1.

Scoring: If you win your set 3-2, you’ll be awarded 3 points. If you’re the loser in this situtation, you’ll only earn 2 points. Effectively you accumulate score over how many games you win regardless of the overall set victory, so consistent attendance will help you here.

End of Season: There will be a prize for the highest number of points for each division, but there may be other prizes to be won should you show vast improvement or community spirit so don’t be discouraged from playing KOFXIV. Pyro will update you on exactly what we’re going to do as soon as he has a good idea.
