BAM 2011 Media WrapupThat's right folks, BAM2011 is over and what a weekend it was! Big thanks go out to everyone who made the event special this year.

3rd of October - BAM2011 is over!
Yes folks, unfortunately BAM is over for another year, but I want to extend a big thanks to all the volunteers and attendees who made it so fantastic.
Full results and media will be posted here in the forum.
Make sure to check it out and let us know what you thought of the event, even if you were just watching on the stream.

29th of September - Your Guide to the BAM2011 Stream
The event will be streamed on the Shadowloo TwitchTV Channel
Coverage will start at 10am Saturday the 1st of October and will run through to at least 10pm Saturday night, then recommence at 10am Sunday, closing at 10:30pm.

28th of September - Details for UvC3 and SFxT announced!
We have just received confirmation that the code and merchandise for both Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Street Fighter x Tekken is ready to go for the weekend. THQ will be in the building with the games between 12pm-5pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
They will have about 130 exclusive Marvel vs Capcom 3 t-shirts on site similar to the ones we had last year and for the MvC3 launch so they'll be giving those away to people who come to check out the titles.
We do not know 100% on the build content as these copies were burnt specifically for BAM2011, however speculation is that they will have the same characters as the TGS build. That may or may not be the case though and the word from the horse's mouth is "You never know with Capcom".
27th of September - BAM Pre-Party at the Mana Bar!

Simply attend on Thursday the 29th of September for a whole lot of fun, drinking games and casual competition.

26th of September - Pools are up for BAM2011!
If you have pre-registered for games your pool assignments are now up and you can check them out by looking at the:

Pools may possibly change slightly over the next week due to errors and seeding updates however we will try our best to keep you in the same pools you are in now if possible.
26th of September - Pre-registration is now closed!
Thank you to everyone who pre-registered, we received just on 100 pre-registrations and we expect up to twice that many to pay at the door. Those of you who pre-registered remember to look out for your seperate line on Saturday morning so you can get in faster and get to the good stuff.
Pool assignments are currently complete and will go up this evening once the heads of each tournament have had a chance to double check the early brackets. Keep an eye out here for the link later this evening.

10th of September - Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 AND Street Fighter X Tekken Playable at BAM2011!
We are very pleased to announce that courtesy of our sponsors THQ we will have both UMvC3 and SFxT playable at BAM. We are currently aiming at having 2 Xbox360 and 2 PS3 copies of each game (for a total of 8 stations) set up through-out the weekend and will even be running small side tournaments for everyone to get a little competitive experience with the games.

2nd of September - Community Awards Announced!

The following are the categories which you can vote for over the course of the weekend and the winners will be announced and crowned on Sunday night during the finals.
These awards are voted on by all attendees: Most Salty, Biggest S**t Talker, Commentary Award, Sportsmanship Award, People's Champion, Best Dressed (this could be a cosplayer, or just someone looking extra classy) and finally the coveted Community Appreciation Award (3 in total).
These awards are awarded by BAM staff only: Jack of All Trades (judged based on placement across the most games), Farthest Traveled, Community Appreciation Award (2 in total)
Finally these awards are awarded for excellence in specific games: Most Improved (SSFIV:AE, BlazBlue, Tekken 6, Virtua Fighter 5, Smash Bros Melee, Smash Bros Brawl), Cheapest Player (Marvel vs Capcom 3) and Low Tier Hero (SF3:3S).

We've just received confirmation from CQ that they are willing to provide us with even cheaper rates on their hotel rooms than last year!
That's right, you can stay right upstairs from BAM2011 for an even better rate than ever before. Stay in a Superior Queen/Twin for only $125 a night or a Deluxe Queen/Twin for only $145. If you're determined to get that fight money though you might even consider a Superior Suite for $170 per night or the Executive Suite for $255.

20th of July - BAM2011 site is launched!
Welcome to another awesome year of Battle Arena Melbourne!
This year we're back with another huge finale to the Australian tournament calendar and more than hype about bringing a bigger and more exciting event to the heart of Melbourne this October.
We're back at CQ in Melbourne, hot off the heels of the amazing Shadowloo Showdown and shifting the focus back to our local talent and rivalries. Please check out all the details for the games, and the special events of the weekend by browsing this site.
For those who haven't been before BAM is a 2 day fighting game tournament now in it's third big year and always improving on our efforts to being you the best weekend of gaming possible.
